GUIDELINES
Details : A Travel Grant Scheme by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education (MoE), for enhancing the quality of engineering education in the country and inculcates the research, innovation, and competition culture amongst the students. The scheme will provide assistance of ₹1,00,000 as a package inclusive of all related expenses, to the eligible students as per the scheme without putting any barrier on the head of expenditure. The scheme aims for providing financial assistance to students in the field of technical education to compete at international scientific events. The objective of the scheme is to provide travel assistance registration fees to a team of a minimum of 2 to 10 students for attending competitions at the international level in order to encourage engineering students to improve their field of technical education. The team of students must be enrolled and undergo a technical course notified by the council in AICTE-approved technical institutions.
Benefits : -
Nature and extent of financial support eligible under the scheme maximum ₹1,00,000 per student.
i) Air Fare. Actual fare not exceeding AC III-Class train fare will be admissible for travel from the Technical Institutions approved by the Council to the nearest airport and back.
ii) Registration and Visa Charges
iii) Total Expenditure restricted to ₹1,00,000 per Candidate not exceeding ₹10,00,000 for 10 students.
iv) Lodging & boarding.
Eligibility : -
1. A team of Students (2 to 10) in the field of technical education must be enrolled and undergo a technical course notified by the council in an AICTE-approved technical institution.
2. Students of B.E./B.Tech. and/or Integrated M. Tech, 1st and 2nd-year students of M.E./M.Tech. who have an invitation for the competition which has been accepted in the international scientific event abroad Provided there is a national level event in which the team has won the top honors.
3. The team of students will be eligible only once during the course of their study for financial support under the scheme.

2. Click and download the Application for 'Support to Students for Participating in Competition Abroad Scheme'.
3. Fill in the required information.
4. Verify that every page of the application form has the signature and stamp of the Institute’s Head.
5. Attach all the essential documents along with the filled application form.
6. Kindly ensure all the information is correct and then send the Application form along with all the essential documents through registered post/ speed post to:

The proposal(s) received duly completed in all respects will be evaluated by an expert. Based on their recommendation, a final decision will be taken by the AICTE.
Note-1: The necessary enclosures such as an acceptance letter from the organizers of the competition and the full details of the competition proposed to be presented shall be submitted at least two months prior to the commencement of the event.
Note-2: The submission of a proposal does not automatically mean that it has the approval of the AICTE. In case of two or more applications for the same competition, only one application will be considered and priority will be given to the first author.
Note-3: Note: Only applications received through registered post/ speed post will be considered, no applications will be entertained through e-mail.
Documents Required : -
In order to ensure prompt action in releasing the grant, the applicants shall submit the following documents through their Head of the Institutes within one month after the international scientific competition event is over.
1. A statement of account giving details of expenditure incurred on various items viz., travel, airport tax, registration fee, and visa fee.
2. A technical report and a utilization certificate in the prescribed format from the technical institution approved by the Council/university auditor/chartered accountant for the total expenditure incurred on the visit.
3. The details of assistance received or facilities provided by the organizer of the competition or any other similar Indian/foreign agency.
4. The amount made available by the Technical Institution approved by the Council/University/State Government and other sources.
5. Certificate of participation in the competition.
6. Conversion rate of the US dollar into Indian currency. (From any bank or other financial Institution).
7. Copy of related documents in which the team has won the top honors in the national event.
