GUIDELINES


Details : The Govt. of Sikkim launched a scheme named “Sikkim Unmarried Women Pension Scheme (SUWPS)” in 2013 for unmarried women of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in Sikkim. Under this scheme, the unmarried women of BPL families in the age group 45-59 years without any source of income are eligible for payment of ₹ 2,000 as a monthly pension. This scheme is 100% State Innovative Scheme and the unmarried woman should not have been covered by any other existing pension schemes of the State or Central government.


Benefits : -

1. A monthly pension of ₹ 2,000/- per beneficiary.


Eligibility : -

1. The applicant should be a Permanent resident of the state of Sikkim.
2. The applicant should be unmarried.
3. The applicant should be from Below Poverty Line (BPL) family.
4. The applicant should be in the 45-59 years age group.
5. The applicant should not have any source of income.


Application Process(Offline) : -

Step 01: The applicant has to approach their concerned Gram Panchayat /Municipality / Municipal Corporation office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure and the local department office for this scheme. Collect the application form.
Step 02: Fill in all the mandatory fields of the application form and attach all the (self-attested) mandatory documents and submit it to the designated receiving authority.
Post-Application Processes:
Step 01: On receipt of an application in the prescribed Form, the same shall be scrutinized by the Selection Committee. Thereafter, the approval shall be accorded by the Secretary.
Step 02: A copy of the order for the payment shall be endorsed to the District Collectors, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Revenue Officers, and Panchayat where the applicant actually resides.
Step 03: The payment of the grant shall be disbursed to the office of the Block Development Officers or through Direct Benefit Transfer as the case may be.


Online Process:

Registration:
Step 01: Visit the official website.
Step 02: Click “Create Account”. On the registration page, fill in the mandatory details (Username, Gender, First Name, Last Name, Email, Mobile Number, and Password). Fill in the Captcha Code and click "Register". The login credentials will be sent to your registered Email ID / Mobile Number.
Application:
Step 01: Visit the official website
Step 02: Click “Apply now” and log in.
Step 03: On the application page, fill in all the mandatory fields and upload the required documents in the appropriate file size and file type. Upon successful submission of the application, a system-generated application number will be provided as acknowledgment. Please keep it safe for future reference.
Check Application Status:
The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.


Documents Required : -

1. Recent passport size photographs – 3 Nos;
2) Attested photocopy of Sikkim Subject Certificate / Certificate of Identification as the case may be i.e. Income certificate, Caste certificate.
3) Attested photocopy of Below Poverty Line Certificate.
4) Birth Certificate or Electoral photo Identity Card or any other valid document having recorded the date as proof of age.
5) Attested copy of Aadhar Card.
6) Unmarried Certificate/ Non-Marriage Certificate issued by the Gram Vikash Adhikari / Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
7) Attested photocopy of first page of the Bank/Post Office Passbook along with the photocopy of latest updated account.
